WHAT WILL WE LEARN:
Week 1 - A fun evening of playing with paint! Learn to loosen up and play with paint, how to get different textures and make a variety of marks and layers to create interesting backgrounds and depth in your paintings. We will end the class with a lesson on mixing paint colours.
Week 2 - a series of exercises to help you loosen up and to start using the materials in different ways. Using different brushes, watering down the paint, using washes and different colour schemes.
Week 3 - 15min Demo on how to sketch your composition and lay in your underpainting. We will chat about your idea and look at your sketches canvas. We make a plan and then you start painting! Students will then Sketch in their own images and lay down the underpainting while the instructor provides individual instruction for each painter.
