2-Part Series: British Columbia in Color
Immerse yourself in a two-part acrylic painting workshop inspired by the natural beauty of British Columbia’s forests, lakes, and mountains. Perfect for beginner to intermediate painters (please see experience below), this two part series will deepen your understanding of color in landscape painting—exploring light, shadow, reflection, and focal point through bold and intentional color choices. Enjoy a break by the lake, with the option to relax, or have lunch outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of The Point.

Day 1: Forest Light – Trails & Trees
Create a glowing forest trail painting while learning how to use warm and cool tones to build light and shadow. Explore underpainting and glazing to add depth and mood to your work.

Day 2: Reflections – Color on the Water
Paint a vibrant mountain lake scene with colorful reflections and a strong visual focal point. Learn how to simplify landscapes, emphasize movement, and guide the eye using strategic color.

Color Focus Throughout the Series:

  • Understanding color temperature and how it shapes light and form

  • Mixing natural greens, avoiding black for shadows

  • Creating reflections, saturation, and contrast to draw the eye
