Immerse yourself in a day of painting and scenic inspiration by the lake! In this workshop we’ll focus on color and create a vibrant mountain lake scene with colorful reflections and a distinct visual focal point (e.g., a canoe, cabin, or dramatic peak). Students will be taught how to use bold, strategic color to lead the eye. You'll learn how to simplify the landscape to emphasize the sky and color movement across water. Students will play with saturation and contrast to highlight a central subject.
Enjoy a break by the lake, with the option to relax, or have lunch outdoors in the beautiful surroundings of The Point.
EXPERIENCE: This course is perfect for those with some painting, sketching, or mixed media experience. Basic color mixing knowledge is required (if you are a beginner but have been to one of my Paint and Sips than this course is also for you).

- A range of brushes and extra tools for mark making
- Water Container

- Small side tables
WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:
Bring your usual acrylic supplies:
- 1 canvas sizes 16 x 20 (please don't use dollar store canvases) Micheals, Opus or Garabaldi Graphics are better quality
- Acrylic Paint Set - I recommend this one as a basic beginner set: Liquitex BASICS 12 Tube Acrylic Paint Set, 22ml : Amazon.ca: Home
- Sketchbook or better yet an Acrylic Paper Pad
- Pencils eraser and sharpener
- Clothes you don't mind getting messy in
- If you want to bring your own paints or brushes you are welcome to do so.
