Buffalo Jump - Canvas and Paper Prints
These canvas and paper prints are created from the original painting by Andrea Mueller "Buffalo Jump". At the time this painting was created Andrea was enthralled by old tales of the Wild West. The original work is a large piece at four feet square. Where the foothills of the Rocky Mountains meet the Great Plains, you will discover one of the world's oldest, largest, and best preserved buffalo jumps. The Jump bears witness to a method of hunting practiced by native people of the North American plains for nearly 6,000 years.
In 1981, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) designated Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump as a World Heritage Site placing it among other world heritage monuments such as the Egyptian pyramids, Stonehenge and the Galapagos Islands.
This archaeological site, known around the world, preserves the remarkable history of the Plains People through the millennia. Because of their excellent understanding of the regional topography and bison behavior, the native people were able to hunt bison by stampeding them over a cliff. They then carved up the carcasses and dragged the pieces to be butchered and processed in the butchering camp set up on the flats beyond the cliffs. (history.alberta.ca)

PRINTING METHOD CANVAS:
My printer uses digital images that have been taken of my original work, high-end printers and archival inks, to print on superior quality canvas material. A protective UV coating is applied to keep your canvas looking like new (we still recommend that you hang it out of direct sunlight). It is then wrapped onto wooden stretcher bars with a hanging wire attached to the back. No frame is included.
PRINTING MEATHOD PAPER: The print you receive will be on Moab Paper which is an archival, acid- and lignin-free paper offers an expanded color gamut, maximum contrast and high ink load that is compatible with pigment inks. Prints arrive either rolled or in a box (this is determined by the printing company). No Frame is included.
