Acrylic Painting For Dummies Saturday, Nov 18 10am-1pm

A weekly creative after school class for kids.

About this experience

Do you feel like a dummie when you pick up a paint brush?

Are your colours always brown and muddy?

Can a 6 year old paint better than you can?

Of course I am joking but... if you answered yes to at least two of these questions this class is for you.

Join me for a day where we will all get a little smarter (about painting). Learn about the basic tools in a painters kit. Which brushes to use and how much water to put on your brush, when to do it and what it does. Learn how to mix paint properly, how to keep colours crisp and clean. Learn about colour theory and composition. Play with a bunch of different techniques and learn how to use a variety of different methods to create. This class is all about the process. It's about the making and experimenting rather than the final product. We will be painting in this class but you will NOT come home with a finished painting.

  • Please arrive by 9:45am so we can start at 10:00am sharp
  • PLEASE BRING A SKETCH BOOK - garibaldi graphics has some or you can always order online. 8.5"x11" or larger.
  • All other supplies are included in this class.
  • Remember this is all about experimenting and new things. You will not come home with a finished painting but you WILL come home with some new skills.
